Be it travelling, stayovers or staycations, never forget to remove your make up. Taking care of your skin starts with a good cleaning routine. I know it is troublesome to bring along so many products so I am constantly searching for things convenient to replace some of my skincare items. 

Today, I will be reviewing Bifesta Cleansing sheets - they come in large packs and smaller, travel-friendly 10-pieces pack as well.

I needed a makeup remover for a weekend trip thus I picked up this one from Cybercolors. This is not my first encounter with the brand, in fact, I wrote about their base makeup and cleansing oil quite some time back.


Was pretty impressed the other round so let's see how this fares.

One common problem I have with makeup wipes is that they tend to dry out easily. Granted, there is a seal and plastic cover, but those didn't help a lot.

Smell

Scented, I am fine with products with added fragrance (and it smells good) but take note if you are sensitive to it.

Makeup removal strength

Quite strong and in fact, I never expected it to perform so well. It even takes off waterproof eye make up effortlessly and does not sting my eyes. However, it had some tingling sensations on Jov's eyes and face.




I use a lot more eye makeup (eyeliner, mascara) while Jov uses more base makeup.
This can serve as a good reference to different groups of people out there.




I feel this is able to outperform many well-known brands in the market. One piece is sufficient to remove a full face of makeup.

However, it was not so effective with removing lip tint.

Travel-friendly

Not the smallest pack but convenient enough to travel with. This is my go-to travel essential now.

Price-point

Got it because it was on sale and I needed a makeup remover for a day trip. Very affordable without sales as well!

Aftermath

Skin does not feel overly dry/oily (great!). I would still wash with a facial cleanser after that.

The Verdict

Overall, I really enjoy this very much. I have used too many not-so-good makeup wipes - had to literally rub my skin to get everything off! They were a disaster when it comes to removing eye makeup as well. At a price of $12.90 for 30 pieces, it can last for a good week-long/month-long trip.

The Face Shop Chia Seed Cleansing Tissue

One thing I am very particular about cleansing wipes is how they are packaged.


Glad this chia seed wipes come with a plastic 'lid' thing on top of the resealable opening. Many of the wipes I have tried, though not reviewed, dried up faster than I expected without it. The Face Shop one is still pretty moist even couple of months.

PS: Just realised I am supposed to remove the seal. But who cares it works anyway!



Another thing I want to point out is that one side of the wipe is grooved while the other side is smooth. The grooved side is probably quite nice to give your skin a little 'exfoliation'/deep cleaning.  Okay la I am not very sure; just know it anyway~

It comes in a pack of 50 and if I remember correctly, travel size pack too.

Cleansing properties

It is not too bad; takes off a good 90% of whatever I have on my face. I typically wear two layers of everything so I am not complaining.



This is how much product left after using the wipe. Not too bad.
Not great at removing waterproof mascaras but it does a pretty wonderful job.

Both are 'after' photos. As mentioned, it does not remove waterproof mascaras very well. I am using Heroine Make mascara if you are wondering.


Can see most of my base and other stuff are gone. Bad skin day btw, a lot of tiny pimples on my forehead thanks to crazy hormones.

Harsh on skin

I am not sure why but this cleansing wipe will sting my face on bad days, i.e. when it is more sensitive or dry. This is especially so during my holiday in Korea (my sis mentioned the same thing too). Moral of the story: make sure your skin is not flaking or peeling before you use this.

The Verdict:

It is impossible to like every single product from a particular brand. I am sorry The Face Shop but this cleansing tissue is most likely not for me nor people who peels easily (perhaps you have dry skin like I do). The cleansing properties is pretty decent; I have used some that really cannot make it. For people who put on light make up, this is perhaps more suitable for you. I bought it during my trip to Korea because cleansing wipes are much more convenient than lugging 101 different removers around. I am currently trying to finish it so what I do is either I will use a stronger cleanser to deep cleanse or I will just go over again with the Bifesta cleansing water as shown above. Sometimes I will just use two sheets - but I don't recommend doing this because it can make my skin more sensitive/stingy lol.

Will not repurchase

I've finally tried the new and improved Biore cotton sheets after all the rave. It is really moist (20% more cleansing oil in each sheet!) compared to some other brands. The new cotton sheets come in an air-tight tub to keep your remover wipes moist for a longer period of time.



The new cotton sheets promise to remove make up faster yet gently.So, let's try!

Daily make up routine: BB cream, powder, concealer, eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara, blusher and lipstick.

I hope it's clear enough to tell! Base make up was gone after a couple of wipes. Say hi to the pimple near my brows, my sun spots since primary 3 fml and my dark circles :( It's a sad sight.

I tried removing my eye makeup using the other side of the sheet. (place sheet on eye for a couple of seconds before wiping off. You don't have to tug too much if you do it this way!)







It removed most of the eyeliner, except those near the lashes. Bottom mascara gone but upper lashes were holding strong.




What I like about it:


The convenience

Biore cotton sheets are the so convenient. This is the thing I will bring whenever I travel. Just one sheet to get everything off. I will choose to bring the handy pack (10 pieces) as it can last me for 10 days. I got the regular tub when I went Taiwan this year as my sister uses it too. This is also the thing I reach out for when I'm out all day and I just wanna crawl into bed the moment I reach home.



The removal power

I would say it is great when it comes to taking off your base make up. If your daily make up routine is simple and you don't use crazily waterproof/smudge proof mascara, this is perfect. The mascara I am using practically doesn't budge unless you remove it using an oil-based makeup remover. (which I think you should!) At least it got most of my very smudge proof eyeliner off!





What I don't like about it:


The sealing

The new pack is designed like those wet tissue pack. You have to pull the sheet out nicely if not it will be hard to seal it nicely later. You have to if not your wipes will dry out in no time. And I always fail to pull the sheets out nicely hahaha my hands.






The verdict




Biore has great remover wipes out of the all I've used. Though the sheets are smaller, it is thicker; hence, I can use both sides of a sheet to clean. It is really moist so I don't have to drag/rub too hard to get all my make up off. However, it is necessary to double cleanse, that is to wash your face with a normal cleanser, to really get every single bit off. You may want to wipe your face with a cotton pad wet with some clarifying toner after that. There's a lot of things to do but don't be lazy before your skin makes you regret. Anyhow, I always do this no matter what remover I use. I tried to remove another mascara using the sheet and I would say it got 90% off. Remember, use eye makeup remover for eye makeup! After all, it is made to work well for that!
