OMNI THEATRE x JJOYIS |
Mummies, Daddies or any Science lovers, you may want to pay attention to this post... Because Omni theatre has opened its doors to you again.
The newly revamped Omni theatre will bring you experience out of this world, literally.
Who said the limit is the skies? Because we have already move far out away from the so-called limit.
Didn't take a lot of shots there because it is quite impossible to capture the World's largest 8K digital fulldome system. It really feels like you are on a spaceship or something once you sit back and enjoy the show. You may feel giddy at times but not to worry; just close your eyes and rest for a while.
There were two shows that night - 'Live' show (Exploring the Planets) and hi-res digital fulldome movie (Back to the Moon for good).
1. "Live" Show
Duration: ~ 30 mins
Exploring the planets: Go on an interplanetary journey through our Solar System from the comfort of your seat! Actually most of the things he talked about were the things I learned from the Astronomy mod I took in NTU.
Cosmic Surfing: Move from the Earth right to the edge of the Universe in almost no time at all.
What's up there?: What stars, planets and constellations are in the skies? Tour the current night sky with the guidance of our Science Educator.
2. Back to the Moon for good
Duration: ~ 40 mins
The modern space race is ushering in a new era of lunar exploration. On top of that, you can also catch a glimpse of our future on the Moon.
3. IMAX Dome Movie
Pandas: The Journey Home (~45 mins)
Animalopolis (~30 mins)
I prefer the live show as it is more interactive and I really picked up a lot of interesting facts from the presenter.
Sidetrack! We had some food before the show - Dip n Go! I always go for chicken chunks with tons of chili and cheese. Try it with piping hot chicken... soooo good.
Back to my topic. :p Here's the schedule for your reference!

Go experience it for yourself. It is like you can see the whole world via google map now but you still want to travel right? Same reason.
The theatre can house 221 people at a go; not a bad place to consider for school trips as well! (Plus there are special prices!)
Parents, why not consider bringing your kids out for an educational trip this June holiday. Who said fun and learning don't happen together? Plus having a curious mind is something very important but often neglected in school. Don't let their curiosity die with age.
Science Centre is just a stone's throw away from Omni Theatre. Hehe one of my favourite places in Singapore. Hop over after the show for more fun.
Knowledge accumulation is a lifetime goal. IMO LOL.
