This has been our recent favourite since we saw it in a vlog. Please toss whatever you remember about strawberry-flavoured milk way - it is far from that. Personally, I really don't like strawberry-flavoured food as they taste artificial to me. If you enjoy it, good for you!
There are plenty of (more complicated) recipes on strawberry milk but this is our way of making. As usual, we will go for the easiest method and we would always aim to strike a balance between taste and how healthy it is.
This recipe calls for only 3 ingredients you can easily grab from the stores.
Strawberry Latte Milk 🍓
Ingredients
- Strawberries
- Honey
- Fresh milk
Equipment
- Cup
- Bowl
- Whisk
Steps
1. Soak the strawberries in saltwater, rinse and wash thoroughly. We do this at home all the time to clean the fruits/vegs and kill the bacteria on the surface thoroughly.
2. Cut off the leafy portion of the strawberries.
3. Mash the strawberries with a whisk in an up-down motion inside a large bowl. A potato masher would probably work much better but we don't have that at home. We tried using spoon/fork too but guess whisk did the job best.
You can use a handheld whisk or blender too but we find it too troublesome to clean one more equipment so...
And also because I prefer to have chunks of bite-sized strawberries remaining instead of it being fully liquid.
4. Sweeten with honey. You can use sugar as well but we wanted to keep it healthier. Maple syrup can be an alternative too!
5. Scoop a few spoonfuls of the strawberry mixture into your glass and add your milk!
and you are done! The hardest step is probably the chucking down of the strawberries.
Been into this drink lately because it is so easy to make.
The creaminess from the milk combines well with the sweetness from the strawberries and honey. The bite-sized bits are definitely a fun addition to have.
Here are the steps recorded in a video! Took some time to put up this post as we are trying to figure out how to go about filming and editing.
