1. Que Origin Lavender Shower Wash

The scent is the first thing that stole my heart. This lavender bath wash smells divine, or at least to me haha. I really like using this especially at night because it really calms and relaxes me for bed. It doesn't foam but cleansing power is good. It is actually quite moisturising too. The best of all is that it does not irritate my skin as much as many other shower washes because it is formulated from natural ingredients. I have sensitive body/back so if the soap I use is too harsh, I will have a lot of red, itchy spots.

2. Etude House 10-in-1 Wonder Pore Freshener

This is my holy grail of the month. Might be my holy grail for my whole life as well. Remember I mentioned (a couple of times) I have been breaking out and nothing is making it better. I mean sometimes it gets better but sometimes, omg please don't talk about it. Opened this last month and my skin is getting better and better! I am so thankful something is working.

I use this like a final cleansing step and it really lifts off any leftover impurities my make up remover/facial wash left out.

I wrote about Erude House wonder pore 7-in-1 (older version) in one of my favourites too. You can read if you are keen. They work quite similarly but I find this 10-in-1 version even better.

3. OST Original Pure C20 Vitamin C Serum 

After all the outbreak, it is common to deal with dark spots/scarring. I find this serum helping in fading those unsightly spots. My skin plumps up and glows after using this for some time. The only drawback is that it can sting, especially if you have open wounds.

4. Etude House Face Blur Base 

Received this as a gift from my friend and I loveee it. The texture is light and not sticky for daily use. It brightens your skin slightly and helps to manage sebum production (doesn't control fully though). I use it under make up, I use it on its own. Basically, this is an everyday product. I've been wearing this with a bit of concealer on days I am conducting lessons or heading out to study. It is just so convenient to put on and remove.

January 2016 Favourites

1. O.P.I Tickle My France-y

Bought this long ago but I only started using it recently. I love it. The colour is not obvious but it makes my nails look so clean. I love nude polishes; they are the bomb. The glossiness is to-die-for too. This is more towards the Earth tone nude so if you like something like that, do consider this color. Nudes look really good on both short and long nails, any skin tones and goes well with any outfit. I think I purchased this 2-3 years ago, really long time ago, and it is still fluid. OPI polishes are worth investing because they are still useable after so long.

2. Softex Pantyliners

My friend told me about this panty liner and I got it because it is necessary and... it is hello kitty wtf. Super cute and works fine so I think I am going to switch to this brand permanently.

It even has a ribbon embossed on the liner omg; I know it is pretty useless but it is cute~ Normally anything with hello kitty is more pricey but this isn't. Best thing right?

3. L'oreal Ever Pure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Shampoo 

I recommended the colour protect conditioner in Jan 2015 favourites; I am still using it. Went ahead to purchase the shampoo version as I hope to 'preserve' my hair colour a bit longer. I used normal shampoo when I dyed red last year and the colour probably lasted me for... 4 days? This time round I did purple (or maybe purple pink) and though the color dropped, my hair is still pretty red after 3 weeks. I did change other things as well and I will lump everything in a separate haircare for coloured hair guide, do keep a look out if you are interested. I feel that it does help retain my hair colour a little longer so for those who are looking for a shampoo/conditioner for your newly dyed hair, do consider giving this a shot.

4. Etude House Precious Minerals BB Cream Cotton Fit (W13 Natural Beige)

I always love Etude's BB creams as the finishes are really great and they are very affordable as well. I have gone through 2 tubes of Bright Fit (discontinued) and this is my first Cotton Fit. Cotton Fit is supposed to give a matte look and thus; more suitable for the humid and hot weather like what we have in Singapore. Coverage is decent, I believe this is a low-med to a low-high coverage, I hope you understand my nonsense here lol. In terms of lastingness it is not bad but there are two things I want to point out: 1. The BB cream transfers rather easily so give it more time to set or set it with setting powder (read below to see what I use~) and 2. Try the color before purchasing. The color I chose was too light for my face but I am still using it because I don't care. It oxidises over time so yup. The colors they have is rather limited too.

7. Banila Co Prime Primer Finish Powder 

I have been skipping loose powders because it is a hassle to apply another something after foundation and stuff. Opened this for an event and I am so in love with powders again. Banila Co's finish powder is pretty popular in Korea make up industry and I can see why. The powder particles are finely milled and it helps to control sebum production on your skin. I don't feel the need to touch up or blot most of the time. It is a transparent/white powder so it will not affect your base make up. Finish is very smooth and velvety. I went on to purchase another compact setting powder after using this as this product is too big and bulky to be carried around. Let you guys know whether I like it or not next month hehee.

1. Nature Republic Aqua Watery Essence (Combination Skin)

I thought I wrote about this before but apparently I am wrong - can't find it in my previous favourite posts. This watery essence is very light and easily absorbed by the skin. Skin is super soft and glowy after use. One pump, or maximum one and a half pump, is good for the whole face. Definitely going to write a full review on this so stay tuned for that.

2. IOPE XP Air Cushion C23

Well well well, another air cushion/BB cushion. In Korea terms, it gives a dewy finish but in Singapore crazily hot and humid terms, it makes you look oily. Thus, this is not something I enjoy particularly a lot in June - August period. However, my recent experiences with this BB cushion were satisfactory. I apply a thin layer of the BB cushion as my base everyday in the month of October.

3.  Etude House BB Deep Cleansing Foam

This is also something I don't quite fancy when I first starting using it. I have dry skin so I find it a little too much to 'exfoliate' every time I remove my base make up (this is ultimately a BB cleansing foam, aka make up remover). Furthermore, the cleansing power is not fantastic and I find it pretty harsh for my skin.
Picked it up in the middle of last month and it has been in my night routine ever since. I changed how I used this product though - remove my make with Cyber Colors Cleansing Oil before using this BB cleansing foam. Add a bit of water to foam it up and viola! The foamy scrub is able to remove any last bit of make up left without irritating my skin. Always love how clean my face feels. Didn't know that few drops of water can really do magic. As I have mentioned, this is not meant for heavy make; so use it as your cleanser after your usual make up remover if you intend to get this ^^

4. Etude House Oh M' Eye Line (Brown)

I am very particular about my eyeliner because this is one thing I barely omit in my everyday routine. I find my eyes so dead without lining, even just a tiny bit. :/ I don't pick up brown eyeliner because I don't go for natural make up look 99 out of 100 times. So please do not ask me why I got this. No regrets anyway! The brown liner from Etude House is really dark and pigmented, which is why I like it. On top of that, Oh M'eye brown liner appears to be less harsh than the black version. It does not dry instantaneously; hence, you have to be patient when you are working with this eyeliner. Full review available (Not with Brown version though) so check it out if you're interested.

5. Biore Aqua UV sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

The finish is great and you will have ample protection with this sunscreen. Very lightweight hence the sunscreen is absorbed super quickly. Nothing much to complain about and I ought to put up the review for this... very soon. >w<

6. Kfit

This is a pass which gives you access to many different classes, gyms and even random activities when you subscribe to them. I have been with Kfit for the past month and my experience is so far good. Will do a separate review about this app.

Packaging


My lash serum comes in a clear tube with a metallic pink cap. I can see the amount of product left easily.









Brush



The brush is similar to mascara brushes. Hence, it is quite easy to use. It is a little hard so be gentle when you're coating your lower lashes.









On lashes


Hmm gel consistency. Will take a while to dry if you apply a couple of layers. No colour, no smell and... no need to remove!






No lash fall


I noticed I have almost no lash fall after using this, even when I use mascara daily. I believe My Lash Serum really conditioned my lashes and made them healthier!










Longer lashes 


Visibly longer lashes after 1-2 weeks. You know what thrilled me the most? It even worked for my lower lashes! My lower lashes are barely there before using this and I CAN SEE THEM NOW.









Thicker lashes


My lashes look slightly fuller since it prevents them from falling out so frequently. However, I don't see a lot of 'new' lashes growing out.









Price


I understand lash serums are very expensive but this is great. Very affordable if you ship them from various shopping websites (e.g. ibuybeauti, gmarket, qoo10, w2beauty etc). If you can't wait, just pop by any Etude House outlets and bring one home for less than $15.









Use life


You can probably use it for 3-5 months, shorter if you don't remove your eye make up well. The debris from your make up will contaminate the serum. You have to toss it out if it gets really cloudy/dirty. (You can literally see the dirt). The use life is similar to any mascara.









Does not sting eyes


Yes! I am so glad it doesn't. I used to use another brand and it stings my eyes so bad, especially at the outer corners.









Results






Long-lastingness?


I stopped for a month and during that period I noticed my lashes fell out more and they looked less full and long. My lashes were so long that they keep scrapping the lens of my specs. You will not go from out-of-the-world lashes to no lash. They just don't look as good as before.










The Verdict:

Good thing must share! It will take a while to dry so I normally use it at night or if I am staying at home (aka no make up). Don't neglect your lashes - they are also hair you should condition everyday, or at least once in a few days, as well! I highly recommend this product to anyone out there.

If for some reason you don't like Etude House's products, I still suggest you to check out other lash serums. They made a big difference in my life! See below!

Repurchase: Yes! 

Since school is starting for me (and many of you as well), let me share a quick and simple 5 minute make up look with you! This is typically what I wear, if any, to school on a daily basis. I tend to omit some steps as time goes by though. You will look fresh and ready for the day. It is beginner-friendly to those who are new to makeup, don't worry yup.


This my first attempt on pictorial tutorial so let me know where I can improve.



Step by Step:

1. Start with a clean and moisturised face.




2. Use sunscreen. Here I am using Neutrogena dry touch sunblock.
After that I will use Etude House eyelash serum to moisturise my lashes and make them appear longer and thicker.


Nobody has the time to remove those troublesome mascara after a long day in school yo.





3. Conceal those panda eyes. (you can skip this step if you've flawless skin)


Nobody has the time for sleep during school term. So conceal conceal coneal! Use a concealer before powder foundation. If you're using liquid-based base makeup, use it after that. I used the same thing on scars and any imperfections.




4. Cream blush! Same as the concealer-foundation theory - no cream/liquid after powder if not it might get cakey.


Pick some up with your fingers and blend it upwards outwards from the center of your face. I like it on the apple of my cheeks.

I chose cream blush because it is super natural and easy to apply! No tools required Plus, having it under your base will give you the healthy flush of color.





5. Powder foundation as a base.



I picked powder foundation for school because it last a long time, super hassle-free to put on and it has decent coverage for everyday look.




6. Fill in your eyebrows!



Etude house crayon brow pencil is very pigmented and last the whole day one me. The angled tip makes it easy to draw. It also comes with a spoolie to soften the brows after filling them in.
I wear my brows straight most of the time now.




7. Use a liquid eye liner to draw your eyeline. I extend it slightly downwards to make my eyes appear rounder.


You can choose a pencil liner for a more natural look.




8. Slightly contour your nose. This is optional but I like to take a couple of seconds to do this as it really brings out my features.




9. Highlight my nose bridge, cupid's bow, chin, aeogysal(eyebags) and inner corner.





10. Without picking up anymore product, press the puff on your skin once more to blend everything in.






10. Apply a layer of tinted lip balm, preferably with SPF.



DONE.



Super easy and it usually takes around 5 minutes for me to complete this look. This is a great look to do when you're running out of time or you do not want to look too made up.
