Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, best dark circles concealer
As the title suggests, I am sharing with you a top favourite of mine today. Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer has been in the market for a long time and I can totally see why. If you have not read any detailed review on this product, spend the next few minutes here.
With increasing demand on our time, it is getting harder to have full 8 hours of sleep (certainly guilty of this). Hence, dark circles are nothing uncommon in today's day and age.
It is one of my biggest enemies.
Therefore, it is crucial to seek help using things like coffee and makeup - at least we got to look human right? I have tried many concealers, correctors and brighteners before. Some worked fairly well but some should never be used as an undereye concealer.
Can you imagine my thrill when I found something that checks all the criteria in my list?
A sponge is attached at the end of the product, making it easy to spot conceal via dapping/covering dark circles.
I never have an issue with the packaging except that the cap will inevitably become dirty from the leftover concealer on the sponge tip applicator. Nothing big, just clean it up will do. Oh, the material for the cap is slightly thinner so it cracks quite easily.
Twist the top before application. It is very pigmented so you won't need a lot of this for coverage.
I usually use 130 Medium. It is quite a good fit for my current skin tone.
Blend it out lightly if you want a stronger coverage.
Blending with fingers works too but I feel it looks better when it is blended out via a sponge.
Didn't do a good job blending it out for this set of photos so I took another set the next day.
Coverage is really good for a drugstore product. Btw there's nothing you can do for eyebags, just highlight undereye to give the aegyo sal look.
Colour suits the majority of the population despite not having a wide range of selection.
The peach/orange undertone corrects the blue-ness in my dark circles well. In fact, I use this to conceal/spot conceal my dark spots, scars and even redness.

Colour
Colour selection is limited but good enough for me to find something that suits me. Be aware of your skin tone/skin colour - the right shade will be a dream to conceal with. Maybelline Instant age rewind concealer has a peach/orange undertone; hence, it can cancel out the blues in dark eye rings.I usually use 130 Medium. It is quite a good fit for my current skin tone.
Coverage
Coverage is between medium to high and it's buildable. However, sometimes I feel it does not fully conceal. I would usually top up with a yellow undertone concealer, something with a lighter consistency.Blend it out lightly if you want a stronger coverage.

Lasting Power
Lasting power is great and it stayed where it is supposed to be. I don't think touching up concealer is necessary. However, if you are outdoors or it was a pretty hot day, don't expect complete durability of its concealing power.Blendability
Easy to blend and it is pigmented enough. My preference is to use a beauty blender/sponge.Blending with fingers works too but I feel it looks better when it is blended out via a sponge.
Ease of use
Really easy to use because of the sponge tip applicator. All you got to do is twist up and you will get the product.Consistency
Not the most fluid concealer but it still glides well on the skin.Ceasing/Fading
Usually does not cease under eyes. However, it can look cakey on days when my skin is very dry/when I use certain base makeup. If you have dry/combination skin like I do, make sure it is well-moisturised. Avoid using sunblock/base that is too oily.Result/Try on
