We were so excited to try this Hai Chi Jia sour and spicy sweet potato noodles! Preparation was super quick and easy, just like any other instant cup noodles. Peanuts were still crunchy even after soaking in hot water.

Don't calculate the calories in this: Enjoy it. It is definitely not the best thing for your health/diet.

From the look of it, it seems like this will be really spicy. However, none of us finds this too hot to handle.
The Mom and Jov found it sour initially, Joy found it salty while the Dad simply thought the taste was too overwhelming for his liking. Everybody was right - it was indeed an explosion of all the flavours mentioned.
Considering that we love spicy food, we certainly hoped that this had a bit more heat.

As for the ''麻" (i.e the numbness feeling), it kicked in shortly after but it was nothing too intense. However, if you accidentally bite into one of those Sichuan peppercorns... good luck. And it happened to Jov twice hahaha.

The experiences from our first taste test were too unusual.

One thing was for sure, it left us craving for more and more. We found ourselves reaching for the suan la fen so often. What sorcery is this?

Lastly, eat this while it is hot. And let the vermicelli cook for a little longer ~4.5 - 5 minutes to make sure they are well-cooked. It does not lose its elasticity even after soaking in hot water for some time.

Will I try this again? It is pretty addictive
